Do you have a product related question? Or do you just want to find out more about electronic cigarettes?
The first thing you’re going to need is a device.
Do you want a device that pulls like a cigarette? To replace the smoking sensation. Or do you want a device that gives off more visible vapour ?
There’s no right or wrong answer to this, its personal.
Some people like to pretend they are still smoking and just switch one for the other. If this sounds like you look for a mouth to lung starter kit. These devices are traditionally used with a higher nicotine content liquid as the strength comes from the liquid rather than the device. This isn’t always the case but as a rough guide if you smoke more between 10-20 a day go for a 12mg. Above 20 go for an 18mg, and if your below 10 a day go for a 6mg. This is another personal preference, and may not be exactly right for you, as you go higher in nicotine strength the hit on your throat is harsher. Sometimes it’s better to go for a lower strength and use it more. You know what your more likely to prefer so use the guide above as just that a guide and adjust it to yourself .
Other people like to distance themselves from smoking as part of the giving up process. To these people they have already given up because the way they vape is a different sensation, and therefore a different act to smoking. If this sounds more like what you are looking for, go for a direct to lung starter kit. These devices get the strength from the device itself and around 80% of our customers that use this type of device use a 3mg (if they still use nicotine) again this is just a guide, but it should be enough for you to make your first purchase and go from there.
If once you receive your device something isn’t right, call or contact us and explain why/how its not quite right and our staff will talk you through your options to tailor the experience to what you need. Everything can be tinkered with to get you the right mix, but to get it perfect you need to have a reference point. Use the guide above to get going then feel free to contact us and we can
Get you a spot on result.
The first thing you should do in our opinion is set up the tank(or atomizer). The reason we say this is because after you’ve set them up its best to let them sit for a while before use. That will give you time to get everything else ready. So, if your device uses a replaceable coil follow the tank instructions and dismantle the tank to find where the coils go. You may find the device already has a coil pre-installed, if it does we recommend you quickly unscrew the coil and then re screw it in. Just to make sure it’s right and to familiarise yourself with the coil changing process on a clean unused tank. Once you’ve done that some coils benefit from a few drops of liquid being placed directly on the wicking material before use (check the instructions for your device to see if yours does). Re-assemble the tank and then proceed to filling the tank as per its instructions. Once you’ve done this leave the tank to one side to rest.
Next it’s time to get the battery ready, most devices come pre-charged. If you’ve got a device with removable batteries its time to insert them following the instructions that came with your device.
Most devices have a ”5 clicks on, 5 clicks off” setup but follow your device instructions and turn the device on. Most tanks or coils will have a recommended wattage range printed on the box, or side of the coil. If you have a device that’s adjustable, set the e device to the lower of this range. If you have a non-adjustable device, the manufacture would have supplied a coil that’s suitable for your devices output.
At this point you will have a fully set up tank and device, its time to put them both together. Simply screw your tank onto your device. If you have a none-adjustable device, simply go, d the button while vaping at rating with short draws to help prime the coil. And your all done. If you have an adjustable device, taping the fire button will, on most devices, prompt you to tell the device if it’s a new coil, follow your devices instructions to select yes and then your all good to go again using short draws to begin with the help finalise the priming of the coil… and your all done! Enjoy!
This is a question that’s impossible to answer definitively. It’s the same as how long a piece of string. Or how long will a 20pack of cigarettes last? How long will the gas in a lighter last.
However, we will try and shed some light. For a mouth to lung cigarette style vape, with the correct nicotine level for your smoking needs, roughly about a week. This is based on purely on someone switching smoking to vaping with a nicotine level being matched to how much they smoked and using the device however much is needed. However some people find that they vape more often than they smoked, and so me people do and themselves vaping less. Everyone is different and there is no right or wrong answer, if your concerned your using to much get in touch and we can see where you stack up against our other customers and help find a solution.
Flavour is subjective, first decide, do you want it to taste like a cigarette, and pretend you are still smoking. Or do you want it to taste like something else and distance yourself from smoking ?
If you want it to tast like something else, pick something you normally enjoy consuming, if you like sweets pick something similar, if you like cake pick something from a dessert range and so on..
For strength if you are using a mouth to lung cigarette like feeling device, This isn’t always the case but as a rough guide if you smoke more between 10-20 a day go for a 12mg.
If you are using a more powerfull, direct to lung, or sub-ohm device, These devices get the strength from the device itself and around 80% of our customers that use this type of device use a 3mg (if they still use nicotine) again this is just a guide, but it should be enough for you to make your first purchase and go from there.
The length of time your battery will last inbetween charges depends on what size battery you have and how often you use it.
650mAh = 6-8 hours of use (approx.)
900mAh = 9-11 hours of use (approx.)
1100mAh = 12-14 hours of use (approx.)
1300mAh = 15-16 hours of use (approx.)
No- with modern, coil replaceable tanks its not essential to have different tanks for different flavours. We do recommend changing coils between flavours to get the best from each flavour but again this is preferential and not essential
With some flavours such as blackjack or liquorice, its can be harder to expel the flavours when switching, so in this instance you may prefer a separate tank for these flavours, but again its not essential.
Changing your coils regularly will help keep your vaping at its peak performance. You can also wash old flavours out of your tank using warm water, soap wont hurt the device or yourself if its rinsed out thoroughly, but in our opinion isn’t really needed and can leave a soapy taste for a while after. We recommend just rinsing the tank under warm running water.
If your device uses removable batteries, check to make sure the plastic coating or “wrap” is in good conditioon with no rips or tears in it. Should you find rips and tears in the battery wrap either discard and replace them, or look into re wrapping them if you feel comfortable doing so and do some research into battery safety before hand.
NEVER cary loose batteries of any kind in your pocket without a case or protection. Loose change keys and metal filings in pockets can cause short circuits.
Always lock or turn off your device before putting them in pockets or bags. Or while not in use.
When most people think of an electronic cigarette, they think it’s ‘like smoking’. In fact, there is no ‘smoke’ involved, merely water vapour.
The term ‘vaping’ and ‘to vape’ is merely describing the action of using an electronic cigarette. If you enjoy vaping, you might even call yourself a ‘vaper’.
How often do you use it? On average, a coil, lasts 1-3 weeks. However, many people use the same coils for months without a problem.
You’ll know when to change it because it will start to taste a little burnt and/or will stop producing vapour. However the burnt taste normally gets really bad way before the coil stops working so most people replace them when the flavour becomes unpleasant.
Electronic cigarettes do NOT contain tobacco so they are exempt from the Smoking Ban in public places highlighted in the Health Act 2006. Legally e-cigarettes can be smoked anywhere however, it is at the property owners discretion to disallow vaping in their premises. A majority of pub landlords allow vaping inside whereas many restaurants will not allow it.
The use of E cigarettes are prohibited to those under the age of 18 and they should always be kept away from children. Nicotine in its pure form is a poison, and can cause harm. They are not recommended for women who are pregnant or breast feeding. You must verify in the checkout that you are over the age of 18 otherwise you will be unable to complete an order on vapeaholic.co.uk.
Some of our e liquids change colour as they mature. This does not impact their flavour whatsoever.
We try to keep all our website images up to date, but from time to time, the manufacturers packaging may be subject to change. This will not affect the quality of the goods inside.
If your tank is running low on liquid, it may ‘dry burn’ as the coil is not fully saturated. Simply keep your tank topped up with e-liquid to avoid this happening.
If your tank is topped up with e-liquid, you may need to change the coil.
E Liquids contain nicotine(except 0mg), propylene glycol (a water based ingredient found in many health products, medicines, foods and drinks), Vegetable Glycerin, combined with natural and artificial flavourings.
All of our E Liquids are compatible with all popular brands of electronic cigarette.
Almost all liquids are actually a blend of both PG&VG these are the base ingredients in e-liquid and both bring different properties to the final product.
Propylene Glycol (PG) e-liquid is much thinner and produces more of a throat hit than VG – this simulates the feel of smoking more authentically.
However, PG e liquid may cause sensitivity in some users. We would then recommend using the VG e liquids instead.
Vegetable Glycerin (VG) e liquid is a thick, slightly sweet liquid that produces luscious clouds of vapour. VG e liquids deliver less of a throat hit. A minority of users complain about a build-up of phlegm in the throat.
If you are using an e-liquid with 60% VG or lower we would not recommend using a coil below 1.0 ohm resistance as it may leak or it may cause throat irritation. Please contact the support team for any enquiries.
Its not essential to have a spare battery although some customers with busy schedules prefer to have one on charge and one in use so they don’t have to wait for devices to charge.
The UK Cabinet Office published a report in 2011 recommending that electronic cigarettes should become more widely available in the UK as they are preferable to using traditional tobacco products.
E-liquid is also known as liquid or juice.
It produces the water vapour.
It comes in a variety of nicotine strengths and flavours and often consists of 4 ingredients
- Nicotine(except 0mg)
- Water
- Base liquid (PG – Propylene Glycol), PEG 400 (Polyethylene Glycol) or VG (Glycerine)
- Flavourings
The most common base liquid is PG
PG (Propylene Glycol) is often used as a food additive (E1520)
The flavourings in e-liquid are the same as food flavourings, but some have been specially created for vaping.
Try and store your e-liquid out of direct sunlight.
You can even mix two or more flavours together to make some new blends.
E-Liquids contain NO tobacco.
Leaking is easily preventable. Never let the liquid sit above the max fill level(check your devices instructions). In order for the unit to work properly there must be a hole for the vapour to exit.
We strongly advise you NOT to keep your ecigarette in your pocket. Due to their long structure, putting it in your pocket puts undue stress on its joints which can cause an array of issues. If you must keep it in your pocket, remove it when you sit down. Please try not to drop or crush it, as it can cause the unit to become misaligned and the joint between the battery and tank will weaken, shortening its life span.
Usually the next working day if you ordered before 3.30pm, if you want to check on an order contact one of our team.
A quiet crackling sound is normal and if vapour is being produced, there is no need to worry. It is merely the e liquid heating up.
If it’s not producing any vapour your tank may be empty. Replace your coil and fill your tank with e liquid.
If you try to vape without any e liquid, it could burn out your coil which could permanently damage it, making it redundant.
If your battery is running low on charge then this will affect the vapour production.
Using a steady long draw versus a quick sharp draw should produce a better vapour.
It may be locked or switched off Try clicking the button 5 times (quickly). It will flash a few times and will either lock/unlock itself.
Locking your battery will stop it being activated in your bag/pocket which will prevent burning out your coil, using up its charge and wasting your e liquid.
It is important to lock the device every time you are finished with it, especially if you are around children.
This can sometimes happen if the coil has flooded, the tank was overfilled, or if the e-cig has been drawn on too hard.
E liquid will taste bitter so rinse your mouth out with water if this occurs. Use a paper towel to mop up any excess liquid you can see on and around the e-cigarette and make sure it’s as dry as possible before trying to use it again. Please be rest assured that small amounts of e liquid will not have a negative impact on your health.
Electronic cigarettes do NOT contain tobacco so they do not burn in the same was as traditional cigarettes. They do not produce ash, carbon monoxide, benzene or any of the other dangerous by products which result from burning tobacco.
The vaporization process produces no smell or residue. People nearby do not face the passive smoking dangers that are associated with traditional cigarettes.
Scientific research carried out so far has concluded that electronic cigarettes are substantially less harmful than traditional cigarettes. One study has concluded that the risks are equivalent to those of using nicotine patches. Electronic cigarettes are not for the use of those under 18 and they should always be kept away from children. They are not recommended for women who are pregnant or breast feeding.
Vapeaholic is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of electronic cigarettes. we only sell premium quality products and they’ve been fully audited by ECITA (Electronic Cigarette Industry Trade Association). If you’re worried about their green credentials, then rest assured – their packaging is CHIP-compliant and all their products comply with the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive.
When vaping using sub-ohm coils a substantial amount of vapour is produced compared to using coils above 1.0ohm (Ω) on the same device. Typically sub-ohm vapers take lung hits meaning they inhale straight to their lungs increasing the vapour they can inhale each puff.
Those who vape sub-ohm usually favour e-liquid with a higher percentage of VG (vegetable glycerin) than PG (propylene glycol). The reason for this is that the vegetable glycerin creates larger clouds and denser vapour production. This is because VG has reduced throat hit compared to PG which helps to accommodate for the increased amount of vapour inhaled. Usually those vaping sub-ohm will also use lower nicotine strengths (typically 3mg/ml [0.3%] and under) compare to those vaping above 1.0ohm also because of the additional vapour produced and inhaled each pull.
The UK smoking ban introduced in the Health Act 2006, Chapter 28 Part 1, Chapter 1, Section 1, Para 2 states:
‘smoking’ refers to smoking tobacco or anything which contains tobacco, or smoking any other substance; and smoking includes being in possession of lit tobacco or anything lit which contains tobacco, or being in possession of any other lit substance in a form in which it could be smoked.
Electronic cigarettes are exempt from this Health Act as no tobacco is lit or used.
